Hello lovely's!!

How are you all? It feels like forever since I have posted on here. Crazy schedual the last couple of days. I've fixed it all up though :) and I can catch up on a few things finally!

First off the 30 days of truth. I think I should be at 8 so there will be 3 truths today:

day 5- a picture of somewhere you've been to

On top of a mountain in Africa :)

I did some volenteering work there, we put together a cage habitat for a cheetah sanctuary :)

Playing with Cheetah cubs was definately a perk!

day 6- favorite super hero and why
Favourite superhero! Nice question. My favourite would have to be Superman, when he was younger. The smallville version. I love that show! I also love the invisable girl from fantastic four because I am obsessed with Jessica Alba! Finally I loved the incredibles and powerpuff girls (if they count)

day 7- a picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

My family have the biggest impact on my life. Especially my brother. He'll be here soon :D I can't wait for him to live here!!

day 8- short term goals for this month and why

Ohh well this month I want to:
1. finish my styling assignments!!
I have mentioned before but for those who don't know I'm doing a 12 week styling course. At the moment the assignments are just piling up because I'm finding I have absolutely no time right now. My goal is to finish it.
2. Get all my lecture summeries done! I'm aiming for a gooood grade this semester!
3. Ask for work off for the end of uni to go to Europe!!
4. Get my hair cut!!!
5. Learn to cook something more substantial then cupcakes :P

Now everyone is up to date :D

Spring here! (Although todays weather is horrible!)
Spring cleaning should have been on that list... Maybe next month :)

I hope your all having an amzing day xx

LML and other nice things!

Hello everyone,
Did you all have a lovely Wednesday? I have to admit mine started out pretty average today. I went to uni and had the longest most boring practical session ever, waited two hours for results then found out the samples were faulty and NO ONE got the results so the teacher just gave us the answers. However I got to hang out with some of my favourite girls from uni, which made it worth it. We had a bit of a giggle at some stuff and worked out answers for a multiple choice thing we had to hand up.

So on the topic of nice things. There was a challenge given out yesterday by the lovely Melissa over at Operation Nice. She was talking about how she sees FML (F*** my life) posted too much over the internet and (although I am guilty of this) she wants everyone to swap FML for LML (love my life). So for one week at least once a day you should use LML on your facebook or twitter.

My status update today:
'Got a gift basket from my parents because I had a bad week, Maddy is coming to visit and I just talked to Jessica! Oh how I LML'

Gift basket mmm :)

Maddy- a friend I met on travels to Africa last Christmas
Jessica- a high school friend in my hometown.

I'm also happy because:
My best friend sent me a letter today
It's a downward slope to the weekend (and I have Friday off)
Tomorrow is pay day
I had a lot of lovely people from hoo are you comment on my last post.

I hope your having a nice day too! Please join in the LML challenge.

Today I felt like I learnt a lot. In physiology we talked about how you can't breathe properly ontop of mount everest and why this was. There is actually the same amount of oxygen in all air, the difference is, down here on erth, the air molecules give more pressure. (Why?) because there are so many other air molecules piled ontop oof eachother here. As you go higher and higher above sea level, there is less force on the airmolecules relieving pressure. Of course pressure is relevent to breathing (we haven't quite learnt that yet) but I never thought about how air molecules are always cating on us. Also in my Christian Union group we were talking about suffering which is always a big topic. I just feel a little enlightened today. Here's some inspirational quotes for you :).

I'm in love with dragonflys today :). I'm wearing dragonfly earings

ALSO: Check out Bethan at a pretty place to play she's holding a book swap. Where you pick one of your all time favourite books and send it to someone else in the world. You write a little thing at the front and send it onto someone else. Ahh how I love books!!

Hope your all having a memorable day :)

Cupcakes!! And a few different outfits :)

On Saturday I made those amazing cupcakes I was blogging about in the last post. They were soo good. They've all been eaten already. I had a bit of trouble translating the recipe from American to Australian. My stupidest moment was 'what is an oz?' (an ounce incase you didn't know) My grandmother laughed so hard at me. Another mix up was powdered sugar, here it's called icing sugar.. I think anyways. Thats what I used. I forgot the drinking chocolate too! I just didn't put it in my mix. So instead I spri nkled it on the top. I also definately did not have the artistic ablility to ice them amazingly, but let me just tell you they were delicious :).

Lately I've been growning my hair out, it used to be shoulder length. I asked the boy if he liked it now that it's getting longer and he replied 'It's the same to me, you always wear it up anyway.' So I am now wearing my hair down to get some use of this length.

While I'm showing you pictures of myself. Check out my dress from Sunday, isn't it pretty? I love and adore it.

And finally what do you think of my outfit today? I had a lot of lovely compliments on my dress today :). It's going to be my confidence booster outfit from now on.

Check out the detail at the front:

Anyways I hope you all had a lovely Monday! xx

Home before midnight on a Friday!

Firstly I just want to say sorry because lately I have been very sooky. When I get sick I turn into a big sook and I just want the whole world to stop until I feel better. However it's really not that bad, I've just got to wait till Tuesday for the results :). This dog describes exactly how I'm feeling. Including the rugged up part. It's freezing here!

More exciting news is that work finished at 9.30 today. 9.30!!!! I am so happy to be home before midnight. I can get a goodnights sleep then start tomorrow bright and early :).

So I've spent the last few hours checking out some brand new blogs via links through the versatile blogger awards (see here) and who they've nominated ect. I've now got a much larger number of blogs to check out every morning. I just wanted to mention to Jocelyn at Inside BruCrew Life because of her amazing looking cupcakes that I am going to try and make tomorrow (pictures and my attempt at baking will be up tomorrow). You can see he recipe here.

Looks so so tasty! (I hope she doesn't mind me borrowing her picture!) I've been trying out different recipes as I'm going off to live by myself in January and I don't want to live on toast :/. If you know of any fun recipes let me know.
Here's some fun food I found on google.

Argh so yummy

This penguin is amazing!!

I'm in such a DIY mood these last couple of weeks. I might try and do something crafty soon. Watch this space :)

Hope you have an amazing weekend. Friday yay :) xx

PS. Hope you liked the pictures today. They were mostly off google images!

4. I over think everything
5. There should be 12 EXTRA hours in a day
6. I write slowly so my writings neat
7. You know those people that didn't listen when you learnt how to type with all their fingers? That's me. I type with only two.

And my lovely list of versatile bloggers:

Melissa at Oh, My Darling

Diana at exPress-o

Check out their blogs. They're amazing <3

Okay so I went to the doctors last night and got told I had to get a blood test as well as a special test where you have to blow into this balloon thing. I asked if there was anything I needed to do in preparation and there was nothing according to the doctor. The lady at pathology then told me I needed to fast! I was so annoyed. I had only just eaten before I went so I had to wait 6 hours before I could get the test done. Soo not impressed at my doctor.

I think I'm going to make a rant day. That way I can rave on about whatever annoys me over the week and people can just avoid my blog on that day.

On a better note. It's hump day, meaning it's just a downwards slope to the weekend :)

Hope your day has been a million times better than mine xxx

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Hoo are you Tuesdays! Amongst other things.

Just got back from the doctors. I have this horrile stomache ache :(. I have to go get tests done tomorrow. So no pictures today because I look and fee like crap. I just though I'd do my Tuesday share blogs. Also let everyone know:

I GO MY FIRST PEN PAL LETTER! I'm pretty excited!! Thankyou Bethen :)

1, What are some of your favorite summer activities? Swimming! I hate the cold, I freeze so easily. Once summer hits, water temperture seems inviting where as during winter it's horrible!
2. What is your favorite flower? Absolutely love orchids. They're just so pretty. Oh and Sun flowers!
3. What is your favorite meal of the day? Dinner definately. It's what you look forward to coming home to.

About a million outfits on my mind.

I've been sitting at uni on the internet all afternoon because my internet is driving me crazy at the moment so I've been checking out a lot of stuff online. I also wanted to show you one of my projects for my styling course and I wanted to show you my OTT outfit of the day :).

So about 3 hours ago I talked about my history assignment. I finished that and swapped the one shoulder dress for shoulder pads, mainly because I love shoulder pads way more.

My next assignment was to style a 'flat lay' outfit, which means laying an outfit on the ground and taking photos, there are a lot of tricks to this though. You need to sort of fill out areas otherwise the clothes look toooo flat. So this outfit actually has socks through out the legs, my biggest push up bra is in the top giving it a more rounded shape. I've also tucked it in around the under arms and waist to give it more shape and the belt helps that also. So when you see a flat lay in a magazine you now know how thats achieved!

My next trick was creating a pile of clothes, this is done a lot in catalogues. I piled up a few pairs of my jeans on top of some pillow cases that I'd sort of ruffled up to give some texture. The trick to this is making all the jeans seem almost equal in width, you have to fight gravity. The bottom is obviously going to look more squished then the top. I put DVDs in the folds of my jeans to creat an equal shape. The other problem I had (which was outlined in my tutorial) was the thickness of my jeans. I have some pretty thin jeans which needed extra DVDs to sit right.
Don't you love the birds on my back pocket of the jeans?

Today I braided my fringe

I'm not very good at it yet but I was sick of my fringe. I also wanted to show you my pretty ring!

2 dollars!! Also check out my shorts. I made them myself :). Sorry about the horrible angle btw. I was sitting in the library using my webcam.

My awesome African beads :). I love these. Also check out the ones below. Also African beads however they're glass. I'm loving pretty girly jewllery atm.

Anyways back to my study. Have a good night everyone :)

P.S. Check out http://newdressaday.wordpress.com/ She has given herself a spending limit of a dollar a day!! That'd be awesome and I'm currently thinking about doing it. Not for a year!! But at least until I go away at the end of November.

I need an extra 12 hours a day.

Since my last year in high school I have strongly believed that every day should have an extra 12 hours. If I had an extra 12 hours a day I'd be able to get everything done, be able to go to work and have a good nights sleep. Right now I am running out of time for everything. Does that ever happen to you?

Work has finally settled down and although my degree is still pretty hectic I can now spend some time on my diploma (which was the whole reason I started this blog), a diploma of styling. My next assignment is about the history of fashion. We have to choose two current trends and decide where they came from. I've chose ballet flats for my first trend.

Did you know they were first a current trend back in the 16th century? They went out of date in the 17th and 18th due to the popularity of the high heel but it's so interesting seeing where these trends come from. The second trend is the one shoulder dress

Obviously a descendant of the toga. This one was quite easy. Have you ever had a look at where your fashion trend started? Wikipedia has quite a bit of information on trends and you can probably find out from there.

As I've written about a hundred times, I'm participating in the dear darlings pen pal projects and I just found out my letters are starting to arrive at peoples door steps!! Yay :). Anyway, there was another project that Melissa at Oh, My Darling was doing which actually ended about 3 days before found her blog so I couldn't join in and that's her surprise balls. You pack up a surprise ball and mail it filled with things to a person who Melissa teamed you up with. Devastated that I missed that opportunity, she's now giving away one that she has made up for someone!! I really want to win so here's the blog shout out and click here to see the competition and enter yourself.

I'm moving into my own apartment in January! My parents have just helped me buy the place. So I'm currently trying to find a nice place to get home ware items if anyone has good ideas. So far I have a tooth brush holder and a cutlery set. 6 months to get the rest. I'm also learning to cook as I don't think toast and cup-of-soup will sustain me. I have been following Baking Bites which has some nice simple recipes such as her cookies and cream scones Which I had a go at baking on the weekend. I ended up over cooking them a little but they were still pretty amazing!

Hope your having a lovely Monday :)

So undecided today!

So I am finally sitting down with loads of time to write up a nice long blog and I really don't know what to focus on. I've been thinking about it all day! I just decided to start my blog and see where it ends up.

Today and yesterday have been full of packages :D so excited! I finally got my acorn necklace from georgie love. It's amazing. Everything I hoped for.

I also got the cutest toothbrush holder ever. When I say cute I mean it in a 'ugly but interesting' kind of way. How can you not love him? With his big gem crystal eyes and little mouth. I'm not sure what sort of animal he's supposed to be but :) :). I love getting things in the mail. Looking forward to some letters.

I've noticed lately that I start a lot of paragraphs with 'so', as if we were already in the middle of a conversation. Which of course we weren't so I've decided to stop.

Instead I'm going to go on about floral print. It's my favourite.

I love doing floral prints with my tailored jacket and black tights. I also wear it with all stars shoes but you cannot see them. I'm loving jumpsuits as well. It took me forever to decide though and my mum ended up being the one who brought one for me to wear. I was always worried I'd get annoyed when needing to go to the toilet. Mine has no sleeves though, so I can easily pull in down when needing to pee, I know some are crazy hard to get out of. Any veiws on Jump suits?
Now I'm starving and have to go study genetics. Also I finally figured out my follow me tab has been down so feel free to follow if your enjoying this blog, it's back up now!

Hoo are you!

I want to do a lovely long post and I've been taking a few pictures to put in but I want to sit down and put the effort in so it'll have to wait till tonight. for now, I've just decided to join in some fun thats going on at Night Owl Crafting which is hoo are you Tuesdays. Every Tuesday new questions will be asked about you, you answer them in a blog and post them and write your link at Night Owl Crafting for other people to read. I've put a link at the bottom (hopefully it works) if not I'll trype in a new like if you want to get involved!

1. What is your natural hair color?
Strawberry blonde. Pretty much the same hair colour I still have. I put some brown foils through it once but I decided I like it this way better.

2. Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets?
Sunrise, it's got a nice crisp feel about it, new day, lots of time, it's going to get warmer now that the suns out (so cold today).

3. What is the first thing you notice about people?
Hard to say, I think it's probably they're clothes I guess. If its bright or unusual I'll be drawn to that, if they're wearing dull colours I'm drawn to their face, however if I know the person I usually notice they're hair. I don't know, it's how I distinguish people. So I've changed my mind, it's probably they're hair I notice.

4. Do you prefer talking or texting on your cell phone?
Texting, I like to think about my answers before I give them, and I tend to repeat myself or get bogged down on ideas when on the phone.

5. What size of shoes do you wear?
9 Argh. I wish I had size 7 feet. They'd be so much prettier. I also hate how wide my feet are. They're pretty hard to get slim shoes on.
